A weekly Dungeons & Dragons game in Fountain Hills, Arizona. We have one seat open, maybe two.
Our group has played together since 2018, but the campaign itself is brand new. We are one session in, so there is nothing to catch up on and no homework to do.
The essentials
| When | Thursdays, 6:30 to 10:30 PM, weekly |
| Where | Fountain Hills, Arizona, about 20 to 25 minutes from north Scottsdale. In person, at a member’s home |
| System | D&D 5e, 2024 rules by default, 2014 builds allowed per character |
| The group | Together since 2018. New campaign, one session in |
| Seats | One, maybe two. A permanent seat, not a fill-in |
| Ages | Mid twenties to late sixties |
One of our regulars is away for about eight weeks and will be back. We are growing the table regardless, so whoever joins stays.
The game
An original setting, frontier fantasy. A dry red-rock country at the far edge of the map, an old keep that has just been occupied by soldiers nobody recognizes, and ruins from an era no one can account for.
Story and character driven, with meaningful combat and no plot armor in either direction. Lines, veils, and the raised hand are always available. No player versus player, low drama.
Where you come in
The party left Treefall at the end of the first session, heading east. Your character meets them somewhere along that road. You do not need to be from the town, and you do not need to arrive with a finished history that fits a world you have only just read about. Bring an idea and we will build it out together.
The handouts below describe the original four and the place they grew up. Read them as background, not as requirements.
Read a little first
- Treefall: A Player’s Record
The town you are from, and everything you know of the world around it. - The Table Rules
How we build characters, and the two house rules that make our table ours. - Session Zero: The First Night
How the campaign opened. Contains violence, including the abduction of children.
What you need
Nothing. We run a shared D&D Beyond subscription, so the core books and several expansions unlock on your account. There is a full shelf of physical books at the table, and paper play is completely fine. We have more dice than anyone could use.
You do not need any experience. We will teach you the rules from scratch. What we do need is someone who can make Thursdays a habit, since the story is built around whoever is in the room.
Not a fit if
You want a drop-in game, a pure combat sandbox, or a murderhobo table.
Getting in touch
Email DnD@craigjacobs.com.
We will meet for coffee somewhere public in town first, then run a short one-shot with the group, before anyone commits to anything. That goes both ways: it is a mutual trial.
Adults preferred. 16+ considered case by case, with a parent in the conversation.
