I want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification.
What I aim for
The goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is an aim rather than a certified claim — this is a personal site and it has not been formally audited.
What is in place
- Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order.
- Text and background colors chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast minimum.
- A visible focus outline on every interactive element, so keyboard users can see where they are.
- Full keyboard operability — no part of the site requires a mouse.
- Layouts that reflow down to narrow screens and remain readable when text is enlarged.
- Alternative text on images that carry meaning.
Known gaps
Older posts may contain images without alternative text, or embedded third-party content whose accessibility I do not control. I fix these as I find them.
